IN MOTION: HILDEGARD VON BINGEN FEAST DAY CONCERT & LABYRINTH WALK 8:00pm on Friday, September 17th at Holy Trinity Church (behind the Eaton Centre) After last year’s successful Hildegard von Bingen Feast Day Concert and Labyrinth Walk, The Hildegard Project announces their 2010 Concert and Walk, titled “Meditation in Motion”, featuring voices, early music and world instruments. The 12th century composer Hildegard von Bingen had visions including wheels of light and the circling wheel. The eastern chakra centres are understood to be wheels of energy turning within the body associated with elements, colours and emotions and balanced and energized by sound vibrations. Join us as we take you up through the chakras, pairing appropriate Hildegard chant pieces with each level. Whether you sit and meditate, walk the spiraling 36 foot labyrinth or just enjoy the music, you are sure to have your consciousness raised. Musicians will include Krystina Lewicki (soprano, Tibetan singing bowls), Michael Franklin (woodwinds, voice), Ann-Marie Boudreau (world instruments, voice), Simone Desilets (viola da gamba), Gaven Dianda (plucked strings) and Ekaterina Pyatkova, (voice, frame drum). Sponsored by the Toronto Community Labyrinth Network: www.labyrinthnetwork.ca Advance tickets $15 (cash) at Wonderworks: www.gowonderworks.com, 416.323.3131, or $20 at the door. ![]() |
