BIO
Over the last ten years, Krystina has performed as a soprano soloist with the Hildegard Project, Medieval Collective, Bellamusica Chamber Ensemble, Poculi Ludique Societas, Toronto Early Music Fair, Viola da Gamba Salon, Cantores Celestes, Cantor and Soloist with the Anglican, Catholic, United, Christ Centre of Truth and other religious communities. The Toronto Opera Repertoire featured her in the 2009 season in the solo role of Euridice (Orpheus ed Euridice) and Frasquita (Carmen). Krystina has lectured and held workshops on the sacred healing music of Hildegard von Bingen and Sanskrit Chant at Institute for Consciousness Research, The Village Healing Centre, Yoga Ashrams and retreats, Ontario Psychotherapy and Couselling, York University and Wonderworks. She composes and performs improvised music for labyrinth walking and meditation with members of the Canadian Association of Sound Practioners, and has participated and been featured in many fundrasing and meditation events with Gary Diggins, Ann-Marie Boudreau, Michael Franklin, and Bart Smit. Krystina organizes concerts and music for Labyrinth events and she is an honorary member of the Labyrinth Community Network of Toronto. Krystina dedicated her early years to the study, teaching and performance of dance and movement in ballet, modern, jazz, tap, Feldenkrais, Pilates, Tai Chi and continues with Yoga practice. A graduate of York University, she has an honors degree, majoring in voice, piano and classical South Indian Karnatic music under master, Trichy Sankaran. Krystina furthered her studies in Medieval Music with Sequentia and Ann Azema and Frame Drum with Glenn Velez and Patrick Graham. She has also studied the Eastern philosophy of Sound Healing and Sanskit chanting with Sundeep Tyagi (Freedom Yoga) and Gita Masques (Aum Ashram). She continued with Westen Classical Music under Dr. David Smith, Tom Schilling (Vocalway Studios) and most recently with Maria Kastellitz, a specialist in classical voice training, voice coach and vocal rehabilitation.
