Omusic is the website of Krystina Lewicki, vocalist, musician, teacher, improvisor and composer.  This site is devoted to the expression of the voice and vocal/instrumental performance of sacred and secular chant and song in collaboration with early music and world instrumentalists.

There is a particular focus on Medieval Music, specifically Hldegard von Bingen, Cantigas de Santa Maria, Llibre Vermell, Troubadour and Trouvere Songs, Pilgrimage Music, Italian Lauda and Eastern music including Chanting the sounds of the Chakras, Sanskrit Mantras and Hindu Songs.  The compositions of Hildegard von Bingen are particularly illuminating in the areas of creationism, meditation on the divine mysteries and their manifestation or symbolic representation on earth. The intention of the music is to stir the soul, awaken the heart and unveil the wisdom in the sacred texts and music of these timeless teachings.

Concerts, workshops and programs provide music for Healing, Meditation, Walking the Labyrinth and Yoga Ashram events.

CHANT & SONG AS A SACRED ART FORM

Historically, chant was performed almost entirely in a liturgical context, however included a wide range of styles of older previously composed to newly composed pieces.  Sacred song was performed by pilgrims from diverse religious and musical backgrounds who co-existed and celebrated their spiritual beliefs side by side in community together to attain spiritual union with the Creator, God or the Divine.  Chant and song as a Sacred Art Form brings peace and unity to our lives and souls.  Every fundamental premise of performing and singing chant in a concert setting is based on presenting the pieces in a manner where the aesthetic experience of the transcendent and even direct encounter with the eternal is possible.  The attention of the listener is highly focused, mind, body and soul recollected, and in a state of both repose and heightened attentiveness.
